Studley High School 3G Pitch
We provided acoustic survey and noise impact assessment work for a proposed new 3G sports pitch at Studley High School, where the new facility was located close to existing dwellings. The assessment included long-duration background sound monitoring, predictions of sound from teaching, training and match use, consideration of Sport England guidance for artificial grass pitches, and advice on acoustic barrier mitigation and noise management. Particular care was needed to distinguish between normal school use, which was broadly similar to the existing use of the playing field, and potential additional community or out-of-school-hours use, where a detailed assessment of noise impact was required.
