Social, Hull

We provided internal acoustic survey and design advice for Social, Hull, a café, bar and live performance venue on Humber Street. The work included reverberation time measurements, impulse response testing, subjective listening tests and assessment of the existing room acoustics, followed by recommendations for acoustic treatment to improve music, speech and general venue use. The design advice included porous absorbers, Helmholtz and membrane absorbers, sound diffusers, ductwork damping and the integration of artwork within acoustic panels so that the treatment could improve the acoustic performance of the venue while preserving its visual character.
