Acoustic Consultancy for Commercial and Retail Properties
Advice, design and testing
Commercial development can require a range of acoustic survey and design work, to support planning applications, assess noise impact in mixed use developments and adhere to client requirements.
Noise Impact Assessments
A Local Planning Authority may require that a noise impact assessment is submitted with a planning application. This is normally prepared using the guidance of BS 4142 :2014 ‘methods for rating and assessing industrial and commercial sound.’
The noise impact assessment will consider sound from fixed plant, the business operation and movements of HGVs/deliveries.
Sometimes sound from car park movements also requires assessment, generally using different standards.
A noise report will typically include a mitigation scheme that minimises noise impact to nearby residents while maintaining commercial feasibility of the scheme.
