Acoustics often has a reputation as being a complicated subject. We have been told before that what we do is black magic – we assure you that it isn’t, but it is a specialised, narrow branch of physics. We make acoustics clear, providing proportionate, accurate and understandable advice that can be applied at whatever level is relevant to each project.

S & D Garritt provide pragmatic and accurate acoustic consultancy for a wide range of clients, including architects, developers, contractors and planning consultants, on projects of all sizes across multiple sectors. We undertake noise impact assessments and acoustic surveys to support planning applications, feasibility studies, acoustic design development, and provide specialist advisory services including noise complaint investigation. We also undertake sound insulation testing in accordance with Approved Document E of the Building Regulations and are ANC Registered Testers.

S & D Garritt Ltd is family-run acoustic consultancy with over 40 years’ experience, established as S.F. Garritt Ltd in 1981. We are members of the Association of Noise Consultants and the Institute of Acoustics. We work closely with clients and Local Planning Authorities to provide practical, defensible acoustic advice that responds to the specific technical, regulatory and commercial requirements of each project to ensure compliance without unnecessary complexity or cost.
